San Juan

These two historical scale models are representations of the two main fortresses of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, Castillo San Cristóbal, and Castillo del Morro. They depict the forts as they would have stood at the end of the 18th century. They were hand-sculpted using satellite images, spot elevations, and historic photographs, then cold cast in bronze, a process of casting resin infused with bronze powder. These two museum models are on display at the San Juan National Historic Site.
