San Juan Island

These three historical topographic scale models are on display at the San Juan National Historic Site. Each one depicts a specific era of the history of the island of San Juan, Puerto Rico to illustrate the buildup of population and infrastructure on the island. They also highlight the changes to the coastline of the island, whether man-made or natural. The models are cold-cast bronze, which is resin saturated with actual bronze powder. The result is a very authentic looking bronze casting which will develop a rich patina like pure bronze at a fraction of the cost.
