Nevada’s Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge is a delicate and protected desert oasis just past the edge of Death Valley and California. The refuge is inhabited by twenty-six plants and animals found nowhere else on earth, including two bee species.

The topographic scale model of the refuge covers a lot of surrounding area, outlining highway access to the refuge, trails, and details of the water features that help create the oasis. The stark topography makes the terrain model so effective.
