Gorges State Park is one of the newest in North Carolina’s parks system, having been purchased as recently as 1999. The almost 8000 acres is actually a temperate rain forest and runs adjacent to numerous other state and national park areas.

Our Gorges State Park topographic scale model covers a large area of central North Carolina, stretching from southern Virginia, and well into South Carolina. The surface in hand-painted and accurately delineates the area with highway and road information for easy orientation. Visitors can find all kinds of facilities for almost any outdoor activities like camping, fishing, and hiking in one of the richest wildlife areas in the eastern United States.
