Sitting right on the border of the U. S. and Mexico, Coronado National Memorial commemorates the 1540 expedition of Francisco Coronado into this region as a gesture of goodwill and recognition of the shared heritage of Mexico and the United States. By any account, Coronado’s expedition was a significant one, reaching from west-central Mexico all the way to central Kansas.

Imagining a hike like that makes the numerous trails on this park seems much easier by comparison. The park is also home to Coronado Cave, a large undeveloped cavern open to visitors.

Our topographic scale model of the Coronado National Memorial is a great example of our outdoor display models. Designed to withstand the desert environment, this model outlines park features and also includes a welded steel base we fabricated for this installation. These topographic scale models will last many years under the desert sun and retain their beautiful hand-painted colors.
